Amanda Rose is a writer and filmmaker from Massachusetts. She recently earned her MFA in screenwriting and directing from Columbia University.

Through her work, she is drawn to exploring what it means to be at peace, with yourself and the greater world. She loves to examine the costs of ambition, conformity, and societal pressures on one’s psyche. Her characters are often tasked with recognizing these barriers and finally awakening – to their truer selves – with the help of art, nature, and love.

In addition to film, Amanda has worked in publishing, a field she loves. She has also worked as an educator with the New York Film Academy, teaching screenwriting and directing at their Harvard University Summer Program.

She is currently in post-production on her thesis film, a short fable about a young wife and mother who is granted the ability to live without sleep. In the coming years, she hopes to make her debut feature, For You, Forever Ago, the script a recipient of Columbia University’s Faculty Honors in 2025.
